September 10th, 2016

970 Rt. 17M, Middletown, NY

EstateOfMind will host the personal and very private collection of Herb Goldfarb (April 13th 1925 – March 16th 2015). Mr. Goldfarb was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and his stage name was Herbert Forbes. He appeared in many musical, dramatic and comedy plays including “You Can’t Take It with You.” Mr. Goldfarb also owned Aladdin’s Antiques of 714 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY from the 1940’s until 1969. He later moved to the quiet community of Phillipsport, NY to open a small Antiques Shop with some pieces from his collection. Mr. Goldfarb’s treasured collection of fine Oriental porcelain, jade, cinnabar, paintings, bronzes, silver, glassware, jewelry and decorative accessories remained hidden in locked rooms for 45 years. The core of the collection was acquired from a storage locker of Antiques, purchased from the Livingston family, in the 1960’s.
