Unusual carved and painted wood camera shop trade sign. American, early 20th century, fashioned in the form of a camera and tripod (2 pieces) painted with its original surface of green with yellow striping and lettering. Inscribed on sides “Chas Howe Va. Ferrotype.” Also on the front is painted in yellow “A S Moxley, artist”. Measures 48" high.
A few age cracks both on the camera and a lifting of a piece of wood showing a nail on one side of the stand about 2" long. I believe this sign was placed outside under an awning to protect it from the elements. It’s in great condition, considering its age and vulnerability to the outside conditions.
