This Chippendale nine-drawer high chest in curly walnut with an old finish, 37¾" wide x 61" high, a dovetailed case, ogee feet, fluted quarter columns, nine dovetailed overlapping drawers, and a molded cornice, brought $9350. There were some old repairs to the feet, replaced brasses, and the ends of the cornice moldings were replaced. The three-gallon jug with the impressed mark "I.M. Mead & Co." highlighted in cobalt went at $220. Garth's auction of candle molds, American furniture and Americana, Delaware, Ohio, August 30, 1996.
