 NANTUCKET HARBOR Ca. late 1880’s. Oil on canvas. Signed in the hotel roof, but illegible. Size: 9" high x 27" wide. Depicts Nantucket Harbor, Hotel (“The Nantucket”), top center (built in 1832, and in 1905 it was moved across the harbor where it is today on north Beach St. and beautifully restored). The two passenger side-wheeler steamboats are The Nantucket and The Adirondack. The artist painted this from the elevated Orange St., looking north. Many of the old homes in this painting are now gone. A923
