“Historical and Artistic Opinion” (letter of authenticity) from Dr. Giuliana Ericani, Director of Museo di Bassano del Grappa, will be given to purchaser of the painting. It is the opinion of Dr. Ericani, an expert on the work of Leandro Bassano, that Leandro painted this work in the mid 1590’s. She also states that this painting has a very interesting pictorial quality and is notable for the rarity of the medium of painting (on copper), as well as the features offered by the miniaturation size.

This snuff box is pictured in the book titled European and American Snuff Boxes 1730-1830, by Clare Le Corbeiller, Fig. 692, “Wood, the cover pressed with an allegorical scene of the battle of Austerlitz (the battle of the emperors). French, 1805. British Museum.”

This is a great little 19th-century painting of a pleasant scene depicting men, women, children, and dogs relaxing on the lawn surrounding a lovely fountain.
